Manage your current preferences
You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time.
1. What technologies we use
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage, which work like cookies but are never sent to our server automatically, to remember preferences such as your theme and saved prompts. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
On your first visit a banner asks for your choice. Until you choose, only necessary storage is used: Google Consent Mode v2 starts with advertising and analytics storage denied, and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded.
2. The cookies we use
Necessary (always on)
Needed for the site to work and to remember your choices. They hold no advertising or tracking identifier.
| Name | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ps_consentCookie | Remembers your cookie choice (analytics, advertising) so the banner does not show again. | Prompt Scene | 6 months |
| ps-themelocalStorage | Remembers light or dark mode, if you pick one instead of following your device. | Prompt Scene | Until you change it or clear site data |
| ps_liked, ps_savedlocalStorage | The prompts you liked and saved (the Saved page), kept only in your browser. | Prompt Scene | Until you clear site data |
| ps_viewed, ps_visitsessionStorage | Counts a post view once per visit and marks the first page of a visit. No identifier. | Prompt Scene | Until you close the tab |
| Firebase sign-inIndexedDB | Keeps the site administrator signed in to the admin area. Not used for visitors. | Google Firebase | Until sign-out |
Analytics (only if you allow them)
Help us see which prompts are useful and how pages are used. Without your consent our visit counter uses a temporary id for the tab only, and Microsoft Clarity does not load.
| Name | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ps_vid, ps_vdaylocalStorage | A random browser id and the day of your last visit, to count unique and returning visitors. Never linked to you. | Prompt Scene | Until you withdraw consent or clear site data |
| _clckCookie | Microsoft Clarity: keeps the same Clarity user id across pages (heatmaps and session recordings). | Microsoft | 1 year |
| _clskCookie | Microsoft Clarity: joins page views into one session recording. | Microsoft | 1 day |
| CLID, MUID, ANONCHKCookie | Microsoft Clarity / Bing: identifies the browser to Clarity and checks the id is set. | Microsoft (clarity.ms, bing.com) | CLID, MUID 1 year · ANONCHK 10 minutes |
Advertising (only if you allow them)
Google AdSense pays for the site. With advertising off, Google Consent Mode tells AdSense not to use advertising cookies, and you may still see non-personalised ads based on the page you are reading.
| Name | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __gads, __gpiCookie | Google AdSense: ad delivery, frequency capping and measuring how ads perform on this site. | 13 months | |
| __eoiCookie | Google AdSense: security and fraud prevention for ads. | 6 months | |
| IDECookie | Google (DoubleClick): personalised ads based on your visits to this and other sites. | Google (doubleclick.net) | 13 months |
| test_cookieCookie | Google (DoubleClick): checks whether your browser accepts cookies. | Google (doubleclick.net) | 15 minutes |
Embedded videos
Some posts include YouTube or Vimeo videos. When such a video loads, YouTube (Google) or Vimeo may set their own cookies under their privacy policies. Google AdSense and Microsoft Clarity may also change the exact cookies they use; their policies have the current list: Google, Microsoft Clarity.
3. Rejecting cookies
If you reject non-essential cookies you can still use Prompt Scene and copy every prompt freely. Ads will be non-personalised (based on the page, not your interests), and your visit is not recorded by Clarity.
4. How to manage cookies
- On this site: use (also in the footer of every page) to switch analytics and advertising on or off. Your choice is saved for 6 months, then we ask again.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser's settings (for example Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data). Clearing site data also removes your saved prompts.
- Google ads: turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings, or opt out of other vendors at aboutads.info. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
